Universal Search and Social Internet Marketing Training

Just to let you know I've developed a new training course, Universal Search and Social Internet Marketing. This is a useful next step for those of you who are already doing Search Engine Optimisation.

We'll be talking about Google's Universal search, and the trend to blend a range of information types.

We'll be discussing techniques for:
  • optimising video
  • optimising images
  • Google local search
  • Google mapping applications
And then we'll explore the practicalities of Social Media Marketing: social bookmarking, tagging, reviews, blogging, Twitter and more.

The course takes place on 26 November in Nottingham; get in touch if you want more information.

I'm also scheduling a range of Search Engine Optimisation training courses; to to www.shcl.co.uk/events.asp see dates and locations.

Search Marketing Expo: SMX London

I am very pleased to be included as a panel speaker at the forthcoming SMX Search Marketing Expo taking place in London on 4&5 November.

Vanessa Fox, of Google Webmaster Central fame has included me in the line up for the Search 3.0: Blended Search and Local Search session. The phrase "Heavy Duty SEO Track" caused a brief panic, but I'm sure it will be a great day.

The conference looks like a worthwhile investment of time for anybody interested in search; I'm looking forward to hearing from SEOmoz's Rand Fishkin, Search Engine Land's Danny Sullivan and Chris Sherman as well as speakers from Hitwise, E-consultancy, Microsoft and Google.

eMarketing: the must-see gig

I was pleased as punch to see TimeOut London recommending my emarketing workshop - yes, you did read that correctly.

TimeOut have astutely recognised the entertainment, as well as educational, value of my presentations. Needless to say the workshop was sold out, but I must confess the elderly tourist in the back row appeared a bit perplexed...

The green starred Recommendation was in both the print and online versions of TimeOut.

A very special thanks to CIDA for promoting the event so effectively.

Internet Marketing Grants

  • Could the use of Internet Marketing transform your business performance?
  • Do you want grant assistance to help to pay for training, consultancy, or equipment?
  • Are you looking to develop new markets, implement online marketing technologies, or improve your overall business efficiency?

Business Link are offering the Business Transformation Grant which is available to small businesses across the East Midlands region. The grant can provide 50% funding for both consultancy and capital projects up to a value of £10,000. The capital grant will usually be in conjunction with mentoring, training, or consultancy.

Of course the grant funding isn't limited to Internet marketing. But this is my company marketing blog, after all. And as a Business Link Quality Assured supplier, you may be able to get grant funding for my consultancy and training services.

The process involves meeting with a Business Link Business Support Adviser. After an initial review, if your business is likely to qualify, then you will carry out an in-depth diagnostic which results in an Action Plan. Appropriate elements of your Action Plan can generally be funded on a 50/50 basis.

Get in touch if you want to discuss your project with me.

You can contact Business Link East Midlands:

I hope you don't mind me sharing these rave reviews:

I recently attended Susan's Advanced Web Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) course. Thanks to the superb delivery and comprehensive content of this course I now have more clarity, energy and enthusiasm for all things SEO AND what's more I couldn't wait to recommend this course to my peers. With absolute honesty this has been, by far, the best course I have EVER attended. In my opinion, what Susan doesn't know isn't worth knowing!
